P&A Group Celebrates 40 Years with a ‘Spooktacular’ Community Event – “Frightfully 40 at The Woodworks!”

The Woodworks Garden Centre & Café, part of the P&A Group of Companies, is marking a major milestone this autumn with a community celebration like no other. “Frightfully 40 at The Woodworks” will take place on Saturday 1st November, 10am to 4pm, bringing together families, friends, and local organisations for a day packed with fun, food, and festivities – all in honour of P&A’s 40th anniversary.

Designed to celebrate four decades of growth and community spirit, the event will feature something for everyone, including:

  • Children’s Art Workshops and Face Painting
  • Treasure Hunt
  • Dog Show – judged by NCAR, with a £40 prize bundle for “Best in Show.”
  • Spooky Games
  • Live Music
  • Charity Raffle

To celebrate in style, The Woodworks Garden Centre will also offer 40% off everything in-store (T&Cs apply) and 40% off in the Café. Visitors on Saturday 1st November can enjoy burgers and jacket potatoes from outdoor food stalls, and hot and cold drinks with a donation from every drinks order going to P&A Group’s annual chosen charities, MS Society Cymru and North Clwyd Animal Rescue. All visitors will receive a free cupcake featuring the 40th birthday logo.

Representatives from NCAR, Cats Protection, RSPCA, and North Wales Wildlife Trust are expected to attend, helping to raise funds and awareness for local causes.

The P&A Group’s 40th anniversary celebration marks not only four decades of business success but also a longstanding commitment to the local community. Over the years, the company has taken pride in giving back through fundraising, volunteering, and community engagement – values that remain central to its mission as it looks to the future.

Building on a proud tradition of giving back, P&A Group staff have tackled challenges including marathons, bungee jumps and the Welsh Three Peaks to support chosen charities. The company has raised £175,000 since 2010 and is aiming for £200,000 by the end of its 40th anniversary year.

Charities that have benefited from this ongoing commitment include Dementia UK, the British Heart Foundation, Macmillan Cancer Support, Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith Children’s Hospices, Cancer Research UK, Action for Children, the Alzheimer’s Society, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Meningitis Now, and MIND – reflecting the company’s deep-rooted ethos of compassion and community responsibility.
