Ingredients

Cake

  • 325g Self Raising Flour
  • 75g Coco Powder
  • 400g Caster Sugar
  • 400g Margarine
  • 7 Eggs
  • Zest of 1 Orange (Keep juice for butter cream)
  • Tsp of Orange extract

Buttercream

  • 600g icing sugar
  • 300g butter
  • Reserved juice from orange

For decoration

  • Chocolate Ganache
  • Chocolate orange sweets
  • Chocolate sticks

How to make

  1. 3 x 9 inch tins / Gas Mark 3 / 160°/ 320 f / Fan oven 140°
  2. Preheat Oven to 160°
  3. Cream together margarine and sugar.
  4. Slowly mix in the dry ingredients and eggs
  5. Add orange extract and zest
  6. Line 3 x 9 inch tins
  7. Cook at 160° for 35 minutes
  8. Whilst the cakes are baking combine the icing sugar, butter and juice from 1 orange.
  9. Once cooled, sandwich cakes together with buttercream and decorate with chocolate ganache, chocolate orange sweets and chocolate sticks.
